Dr. Basam
Saeed Dahy, from Hadramout, is a Non-Resident Fellow at “South24 Center for News and Studies”.
He is currently Postdoctoral Associate at NYU Abu Dhabi. He holds PhD in Ecology & Environmental Sciences and has many research papers published in specialized magazines in the fields of
environment and sustainability. He participated in several international
scientific conferences.
His PhD thesis won the Best Basic and Applied Sciences Award from the Association of Arab Universities affiliated with the Arab League.
As part of a research team, Basam won the Distinguished Research Award during the 38th Asian Remote Sensing Conference in 2018, held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
As a member of a research team, he also won the Chancellor's Innovation Award delivered by the United Arab Emirates University in 2021.
In 2023, Basam
issued his book “Date Palm & Carbon Footprint” during the
“COP28” Conference which highlights the role played by the desert environmental
systems for stabilizing Carbon in the atmosphere. Ha also
