Today, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels launched a campaign to seize the property of their political opponents, in the Damt district, north of Al-Dhalea governorate.

According to local sources for "South24", the Houthi campaign included the homes and farms of citizens fleeing the city.

The sources also reported that the Houthis also carried out a campaign of kidnappings in the city, which extended to the neighboring districts of Al-Hasha and Jubban.

The rebels' media had announced, a few days ago, the start of a campaign of "preservative seizure" of properties they called "mercenaries."

According to the Houthi channel "Yemen", this campaign is being carried out by a central committee appointed by the supreme leadership in Sanaa.

It should be noted that the city of Damt is one of the regions in North Yemen, which administratively included the governorate of Al-Dhalea, in South, after the Yemeni unity.

The Houthis use the city as a launching pad for their attacks against the Southern forces and the popular resistance in the neighboring Maris region.
