Marib: The Assassination of a Government Military Official

Earlier today, gunmen assassinated a high-ranking military official in the pro-Yemeni government forces in the city of Marib, North Yemen.

A military source told "South24 Center" that Major General Mohammed Al-Jaradi who occupies the advisor position to the Minister of Defense was assassinated in an ambush in Al-Rawda area, north of the city.

According to the source, one of the escorts of Major General Al-Jaradi was also killed in the attack. So far, no official statement has been issued by the Yemeni Ministry of Defense.

In a separate context, the city of Marib witnessed yesterday explosions in a government ammunition storage.
The Yemeni forces media center accused the Houthis of carrying out a ballistic missile attack on an ammunition storage belonging to the Third Military District.

On the other hand, the Houthis accused the Yemeni Islah party of being behind the bombings.

Al-Jaradi's assassination is the second of its kind in months after the assassination of a prominent Salafist leader, Abdul Razzaq Al-Baqama, on June 24.
