Four soldiers of the Shabwa Defense Forces (SDF) were wounded earlier this morning in a new drone attack, likely to be by AQAP, in Shabwa governorate, South Yemen.

South24 correspondent reported that a drone, believed to be from AQAP, attacked a security checkpoint of the SDF (a branch of the Southern forces) in Al-Musina'a area of Al-Saeed district.

The attack comes only two days after a similar drone attack in the same area against the SDF, which left no victims.

On Monday, AQAP claimed responsibility for an armed attack on a SDF checkpoint last Saturday, which left two dead and three wounded. An AQAP member was killed according to the Southern forces.

In a related context, the SDF announced yesterday that its air defenses had intercepted a "hostile drone" in the sky of Beihan district, west of the governorate.

According to the official Deraa Aljanoob website, the intercepted drone belongs to the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, which was expelled from Beihan district last year after fierce battles with the Southern forces.

On Tuesday, the SDF announced the imposition of a curfew in Al-Musina'a area of Al-Saeed district, from 9:00 pm until 6:00 am.

Within one month, AQAP carried out nearly 9 attacks against the SDF, four of which were by drones, which AQAP used for the first time against the Southern forces.
