The Minister of Defense in the internationally recognized government, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daeri, said that the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) is discussing securing the re-export of oil from Hadramout.

Al-Daeri made the statements today after a meeting that included the governor of Hadramout and the commander of the Second Military District, in the city of Mukalla, to discuss the security file.

Al-Daeri said that he is visiting Hadramout under the PLC's directions to inspect the forces in the Second Military District on the coast of Hadramout, and the Second Military District in Wadi Hadramout.

The minister said, "the next stage is an economic war par excellence with the Houthi militia. We are working to arrange ourselves for victory over these terrorist militias."

Since last October, the production and export of oil in Hadramout has suspended after the Houthi drone attacks targeted Al-Dhabba oil port in Al-Shihr district, and Al-Nushaimah port in Shabwa.

The attacks caused extensive damage to the port's oil export pump. The cessation of oil exports caused a severe financial crisis for the Yemeni government and the largest collapse in the value of the local currency since the PLC's formation.
