Houthis threaten to launch missiles and drones towards Israel

Yesterday, the leader of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen, Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, threatened to launch missiles and drones towards Israel.

In a video speech, Al-Houthi said: "If the Americans intervene directly in Palestine, we are ready to participate in missile bombing and drones".

Al-Houthi expressed his regret over the geographical obstacles that prevent Yemeni militants from supporting the Palestinian Hamas movement against Israel.

“But whatever the obstacles, we will not hesitate to do everything we can," he said, adding that they are coordinating with the regional "Axis of Resistance" led by Iran.

Other senior Houthi officials confirmed their willingness to strike Israel.

The head of the Houthi negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, said: “This is America giving itself the right to supply Israel with weapons and to support it with aircraft carriers.”

"The Axis of Resistance is ready for direct participation," he added.

Senior official Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi called on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to allow Yemenis to cross the kingdom’s borders to reach Israel.

He said: "I call on you to sign an agreement to open an urgent, specific and temporary path, so that the Yemeni people can mobilize their children to unite with their brothers in Palestine."

The Houthi’s ideological stance towards Israel and the United States is hostile, and their official slogan includes the phrase "Death to America, Death to Israel."

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine and Hamas had previously called on the Axis of Resistance groups in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Iran to support them against Israel.

As a precautionary measure, the United States sent an aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean yesterday, to support Israel and “bolster regional deterrence efforts", according to U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Israeli president Benjamin Natanyahu officially declared war on Hamas militants in Gaza four days ago, following the faction’s announcement of the Battle of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" on Saturday.
