Flights between Sanaa and Amman to resume tomorrow

Houthi authorities have announced that flights between Sanaa International Airport, in Houthi-controlled Yemen, and Amman International Airport, in Jordan, will resume tomorrow.

Director of Sanaa International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, said yesterday that the six weekly flights between the two airports will resume on Tuesday after them suspended for almost half a month.

In early October, Yemenia Airways announced the suspension of its flights to and from Sanaa International Airport, in protest of the Houthis freezing its financial assets.

The six flights had been operating weekly since April 2022, between Sanaa Airport and Queen Alia Airport in Amman, Jordan, as part of the humanitarian concessions made by Saudi Arabia in favor of the Houthis.

Sanaa Airport stopped operating years ago after the Houthis took control of the city. Usually, it receives UN relief planes, Red Cross planes, and UN Special Envoy flights.
