Today, the Governor of Shabwa issued decisions dismissing the Islah-affiliate commander of the Special Security Forces in the governorate.
Governor Awad Al-Awlaki dismissed Brigadier General Abd Rabbo Lakab, commander of the Special Forces, and Ahmed Daraan, commander of the Special Forces military camp.
The decisions also ruled the dismissal of Lakab office director, Nasser Al-Sharif.
Al-Awlaki accused the Special Forces command of carrying a military rebellion after it prevented a senior security official from entering the Special Forces military camp.
Al-Awlaki appointed Brigadier General Ahmed Lahwal as commander of the Special Forces after suspending Lakab on July 24, after the clash events with the Shabwa Defense Forces.
In addition to Lakab, the governor suspended Colonel Wajdi Baoum, the commander of the second brigade of Shabwa Defense Forces, and formed a committee to investigate the clashes.
Al-Awlaki directed today to continue suspending Baoum until the victims' cases are resolved.
In a related context, local sources told "South24" that Shabwa Defense Forces were deployed today in a number of security sites in Radhum area and the areas adjacent to Balhaf oil facility.
The dismissed Special Forces command is accused of committing grave violations against civilians and activists in detention sites and prisons.
