Hadramout (South24)

Yesterday, the security forces in Wadi Hadramout seized weapons shipment destined for the Houthis in Shibam district of Wadi Hadramout.

Local sources told "South24 Center" that the security force seized two trucks loaded with weapons, after they passed through checkpoints of the First Military District (FMD).

According to the sources, the FMD tried to intervene to release the two trucks, which caused military tension that lasted for hours.

"South24 Center" obtained a picture of one of the two trucks.

In a statement, the Yemeni Ministry of Interior said that "equipment for drones" was seized on two trucks in Wadi Hadramout.

The Yemeni Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haydan, praised the security vigilance during a phone call with the Hadramout Police Director, Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Sayari.

According to Saba, the two trucks were transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Seiyun to complete the legal procedures.

The Ministry of the Interior did not comment on the security tension that occurred between the Wadi Hadramout police and the FMD, through which the two loaded trucks passed.

Parties in Hadramout and South Yemen accuse the FMD that consists of a number of Northern brigades of being associated with the Houthis.

During the past years, a number of shipments of sea and land weapons were seized at ports in Hadramout governorate and the neighboring Al-Mahra governorate.
