Mokha Airport in Taiz resumes flights

Today, the internationally recognized Yemeni government announced that Mokha Airport in Taiz Governorate is open to inbound and outbound flights, starting tomorrow, April 5. 


The announcement came as part of a statement by the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, in affiliation with the Yemeni Ministry of Transport in Aden, on its official Facebook page.


 “We announce the opening and operation of Mokha Airport (receiving and transferring flights), as a Category G airport, from sunrise to sunset as a first stage," the statement said.


"We call on all airlines and international organizations that operate flights in Yemen that Mokha Airport is fully prepared technically and administratively," it added.


The statement explained, “The international code for the airport designated and approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization is OYMK.”


Mokha Airport is situated in the city of Mokha, which serves as the headquarters of the Republic Guard Forces led by Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh.
