A Saudi national was killed and others were wounded on Wednesday (September 2) when a Yemeni gunman opened fire at the Al-Wadiah border crossing in Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen, according to South24 sources.
The sources said the gunman fled toward a nearby desert area following the attack, prompting security forces to launch search and tracking operations.
Authorities in Yemen and Saudi Arabia had not immediately commented on the incident. The identity of the gunman and the motive behind the shooting remain unclear.
The crossing reopened from the Saudi side after being temporarily closed for several hours amid heightened security measures, according to South24 sources.
Al-Wadiah is a key land crossing between Yemen and Saudi Arabia and an important route for passenger travel and commercial traffic between the two countries.
