A ballistic missile attack targeted Maashiq Palace, the headquarters of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, in Aden’s Crater district minutes ago.
Yemen’s Ministry of Information said Prime Minister Shaya al-Zindani and members of the government were safe after the attack, while two of the prime minister’s escorts were killed.
The Houthi-controlled Yemen News Agency (Saba) quoted a military source as saying the attack targeted a military operations center run by Saudi officers inside the palace, as well as weapons depots belonging to them.
Preliminary information received by South24 Center indicated that the headquarters of Saudi forces in Madinat al-Shaab, Aden, may also have been targeted. The site is known as the headquarters of the Arab Coalition, though it was not confirmed whether it was hit.
The attack comes days after Aden International Airport was targeted with ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones. Yemen’s Transport Ministry said one missile landed near the runway minutes before a flight from Cairo was due to land.
The Houthis later claimed they had targeted Badr Camp near the airport, saying they struck Saudi military supplies there.
