The former security director of Aden, South Yemen, arrived Saturday evening in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, In order to hand over tasks to his successor, while sources indicated to complete consultations to form the government.

Shalal appeared in his first photo in Riyadh with the head of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, and the newly appointed director of security for Aden, Major General Muhammad Al-Hamdi.

Informed political sources told “Eremnews” that Shalal’s visit to Riyadh “came at an official invitation from Saudi Arabia and also from the leadership of the Transitional Council, within the framework of consultations and understandings that took place to conduct a handover and handover ceremony between Al-Hamdi and Shalal in Saudi Arabia.”

On the other hand, the sources said, “The government and the Transitional Council have completed the procedures and consultations to form a government of potential competencies.”

The sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, added: “The government formation will be announced, and its return to Aden will be at the end of this week, in case nothing arises.”

And she continued: “The implementation of the military and security sides of the Riyadh Agreement, including mutual military withdrawals from the seam zones in Abyan, Shabwa and Hadramout, will coincide with the government’s announcement and its return to Aden.”

Other sources told "South24" that "Major General Shallal Sha'i might be appointed to a new position in the new government", but she did not disclose the type of mission.

These developments come after two days of a prisoner exchange deal between the Southern Transitional Council and the  Yemeni government in Abyan, on the initiative of the STC, about 200 detainees on both sides were released.

These developments reflect the positive steps that may push to end the fighting  between the government and the Council, amid fears that other parties in the Yemeni government, close to Qatar, will continue to obstruct this agreement.
