The Southern Transitional Council (STC) condemned the Israeli forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the targeting of Palestinian civilians in "occupied Jerusalem".

On Thursday, the STC's official spokesman, Ali Al Kathiri, announced the council’s “condemnation” and its "deep regret for the displacement of families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood."

"The Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque represents an unacceptable consecration of the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem, and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law, including the right of the free Palestinian people to establish their state and their right to practice the religious rites," said the STC.

The bloody escalation continued last night, with rockets fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. Israel responded by carrying out intensive new raids on the besieged Gaza Strip. Israeli cities witnessed violence and confrontations between Jews and Arabs.

According to the AFP agency, the death toll rose to 83 in Gaza, including 17 children, and about 487 wounded. While seven people were killed on the Israeli side, including a child, and hundreds were wounded.

On the fourth day of the fiercest escalation since the 2014 war, calm is not yet on the horizon, despite all the international calls to reduce tension.

The Southern Council renewed its "complete and unwavering support for the Palestinian people." He called for "reaching a just solution to the Palestinian issue, and for the need to preserve the historical identity of occupied Jerusalem."

During Eid prayers in Aden, politicians in South Yemen wore the "Palestinian scarf" and some citizens raised the Palestinian flag, as an expression of their solidarity with the Palestinians.

In Tel Aviv, authorities at Ben Gurion Airport on Thursday diverted all flights until further notice due to the fall of the missiles.

Washington announced sending an envoy to Israel and the Palestinian territories to urge "de-escalation," while Moscow called for an emergency meeting of the Quartet on the Middle East, which includes the European Union, Russia, the United States and the United Nations.
