"Let us assume the responsibility that bears us towards recognizing each other, respecting our legitimate aspirations, and understanding common threats," Al-Ghaithi said.

He added, "The stage requires joint action that leads us to a just peace, whose principle is the liberation of North and respect for the will of the people of South."

Al-Ghaithi explained the content of the three documents. He said that the first document regulates the work of the body he heads until the approval of the draft rules regulating the work of the PLC and its affiliated bodies.

Regarding the second document, "The General Framework for the Comprehensive Peace Vision," he said that it represents "the vision of the PLC for the peace process in Yemen and the terms of reference for the negotiation process."

Al-Ghaithi mentioned the new references, such as the Riyadh Agreement, the Riyadh consultations sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the power transfer announcement to the PLC.

He also referred to previous references that the Houthis "turned against," such as the national dialogue, the Gulf initiative, and UN resolutions on Yemen.

Al-Ghaithi explained that the third document, "Principles of Reconciliation between the legitimate political forces and components," included 11 principles to support the common space for all.

He referred to the endorsement of the principle of recognizing the issue of South as "a just and pivotal political issue, and commitment to what was stated in this regard in the Riyadh Agreement."

He pointed to other principles such as uniting the ranks, activating government institutions, calming the media, supporting the fight against terrorism, and strengthening relations with Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Al-Ghaithi said that the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission supports the lifting of sanctions on "legal persons" who support the legitimate government and oppose the Houthis.

Last February, the UN Security Council approved the extension of sanctions against Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was killed by the Houthis and his son, Ahmed who resides in the UAE.
