Today, officials from the Yemeni Houthi militia announced a halt to targeting ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait and halting attacks on Israel in response to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza that came into effect in the past hours.
Houthi leader Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti said on the X platform: "We affirm our commitment to halting our military operations in support of Gaza, and the Zionist entity and its allies must commit to implementing the agreement to avoid the return of military confrontations."
On Thursday, January 16, Houthi leader Abdulmalik Al-Houthi said that they will implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, but will attack with greater force if the agreement is violated and war returns between Hamas and Israel.
The Houthis continued to launch attacks using drones and missiles until the last moments.
Yesterday (January 18), Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said that they attacked the US aircraft carrier Truman and its military group in the northern Red Sea with cruise missiles and drones.

This is the eighth attack on the carrier since it entered the Red Sea, and the second attack in just 48 hours.
