The Southern Giants Takes Control Over Shabwa's Oil Fields

The Southern Giants Brigades announced yesterday their control over oil fields in Shabwa governorate, South Yemen at the request of the governorate's governor.

In an official statement, the Giants Brigades announced that they had taken over the duties of protecting Jannah oil fields in Usaylan district from the 107th Infantry Brigade.

Jannah oil sector in Shabwa consists of three fields, and it is considered one of the largest oil fields in the country.

Shabwa official governorate media said that the fifth giant brigade took over Jannah oil field at the request of the governor, Awad Al-Wazir Al-Awlaki to the Presidential Council.

According to the governorate’s media, the Presidential Council directed the formation of a committee to receive and hand over between the forces of the 107th Infantry Brigade and the Fifth Brigade Giants.

The Giants Brigades are UAE-backed Southern forces deployed on the West Coast. Early this year, they engaged in fierce battles to liberate a number of Shabwa districts from the Houthis.

The Giants Brigades were able to liberate the districts of (Beihan - Ain - Usaylan) with a military operation called "South Tornado".

The Giants Brigades are led by Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, a member of Yemen's new Presidential Council.
