Today, the Southern forces announced the opening of main routes in Al-Dhalea governorate that leads to North Yemen.

The Southern forces said they had opened the Al-Dhalea-Marais-Damt road that leads to the governorates of Dhamar and Sanaa. It is an international road linking Sanaa to Aden via Al-Dhalea.

Al-Dhalea-Fakher-Ibb road, which connects Al-Dhalea governorate with Ibb governorate, North Yemen, was also opened.

The Southern forces said that the opening of the roads "from one side" came under the directives of Aidrous Al-Zubaidi, the Presidential Council member and president of the STC.

In a related context, the Joint Forces announced today the opening of the Mocha-Barah-Taiz road unilaterally, under the directives the Presidential Council member Tariq Saleh.

The Joint Forces are forces consisting of the Southern Giants Brigades led by the Presidential Council member Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, and the National Resistance led by Tariq Saleh, the nephew of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Notably, the opening of roads in Al-Dhalea and Taiz comes one day after the Houthis announced the opening of the Fifty-Sixty Road in Taiz "unilaterally".

Intense discussions led by the UN Envoy to Yemen took place in Muscat, Oman, in recent weeks, to try to open the main road in the city of Taiz and other governorates.

The Houthis continue to reject proposals to open roads in Taiz and the rest of the governorates, according to informed sources.
