The Southern Transitional Council (STC) President, Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) member, Major General Aidrous Al-Zubaidi, arrived today in Hadramout, the largest governorate in South Yemen.

A flight from Aden International Airport carried Al-Zubaidi, accompanied by senior STC officials, to Al-Rayyan International Airport in the coastal city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout.

Al-Zubaidi received a formal and popular reception. Hundreds of citizens, carrying the flags of the state of South Yemen, gathered in front of Al-Rayyan Airport and the roads leading to it.

PLC member, and recently appointed STC Vice President, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani was at the forefront of Al-Zubaidi’s reception.

The STC officials are visiting the city of Mukalla to attend the 6th session of the Southern National Assembly, which will be held on May 21.

In statements to AIC TV, STC Vice President Major General Ahmed Bin Break, said that the session of the National Assembly "will determine the map of the future of South."

The head of the STC office in Hadramout, Colonel Saeed Al-Muhammadi, said that Al-Zubaidi will meet the social parties in Hadramout governorate during his visit.

The visit comes less than two weeks after the historic consultative meeting between the Southern political parties in the capital city Aden.

Yesterday, a large convoy of civilian and military vehicles, including armored vehicles, arrived from the capital city Aden, passing through Abyan and Shabwa, to Hadramout, including top Southern officials.

In a related context, the PLC Chairman, Rashad Al-Alimi, arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the 32nd Summit of the Arab League hosted by Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Press Agency published pictures of Al-Alimi arrival on a private Saudi plane.

The official Saba news agency said that Al-Alimi will deliver a speech at the summit, which begins on Friday, in which he will discuss developments in the local situation and the need to support the Yemeni economy.

Al-Alimi will also talk about the paths of restoring peace in Yemen after more than 8 years of continuous conflict in the country.
