The Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) terror group has broadcast a new video titled ’The Traitor's Fate‘, in which it announced the execution of a local resident in Abyan Governorate on charges of spying for the Southern forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

AQAP accounts on Telegram circulated the video yesterday (November 16) which was produced by the Al-Malahem platform, the media arm of AQAP. The over 30-minute video focused heavily on attacking the UAE, the STC, and the United States.

The video also contained scenes from the recent war in Gaza, and the signing of the Abraham Accords in September 2020 for the normalization of ties between Israel, the UAE, and other Arab countries. The organization used an emotional motivational approach while showing the scenes of destruction and deaths in Gaza.

The video described the leaders of South Yemen, including STC President Aidrous Al-Zubaidi, and his Vice President and the commander of the Southern Giants Brigades Abdulrahman Al-Muhrrammi, as traitors. It also included pictures of other Southern leaders supervising counterterrorism operations.

The person who was executed on charges of espionage was identified as Wahb Omar Ahmed Jawas. With a terrified face, the person spoke about his alleged role in the capture of two AQAP members who were killed by Southern forces on August 18.

An AQAP member in the video, whose identity and voice were camouflaged, said that Wahb had been executed by the organization’s judiciary.

Remarkably, the video was of lower technical quality than previous such AQAP releases. The AQAP, in the video, vowed to target Southern forces more frequently. However, it ended by saying “We are coming, Al-Aqsa”— referring to Palestine.
