Farida Ahmed

The Executive Director of the South24 Center for News and Studies, she is a researcher and policy analyst specializing in Yemen, the Gulf, and Middle East affairs. Her work focuses on conflict dynamics, armed groups, peacebuilding, and the role of regional and international actors in the region. Her analyses and research place particular emphasis on the policies and political developments of Southern Yemen.

Farida holds a master’s degree in political science from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo. Earlier in her career, she worked in journalism independently since 2006, collaborating with numerous visual and digital media outlets in news writing and editing, as well as in producing and presenting televised reports. She has also led and contributed to several projects related to development and youth initiatives with various organizations, and has participated in numerous conferences, training programs, and workshops focused on development, peacebuilding, and women’s rights in Yemen.
