Today, pro-STC Security Belt Forces carried out a large-scale security campaign in the city of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan Governorate, targeting houses "suspected of sheltering terrorist members."
A statement by the SBF stated that units led by Brigadier General Abdul Latif al-Sayed, one of the main commanders of the Security Belt in the governorate raided houses "where possible wanted terrorists are residing."
The statement indicated that the security units formed a cordon on the coastal city of Zinjibar, and also deployed new security points.
Abdul Latif al-Sayed warned against "any attempts to destabilize security in the city of Zinjibar and all of Abyan." He stressed that the Security Belt "will not tolerate those who seek to do so."
It is noteworthy that Zinjibar has witnessed violent acts targeting Southern forces in recent months, the most prominent of which was the explosion of an explosive motorbike that left 7 dead.
The STC accuses the pro-Islah government forces of collusion with "AQAP" and of providing it with facilities.
