Yesterday, security forces in Wadi Hadramout, South Yemen, arrested two senior ISIS commanders.
According to a high-ranking security source who spoke to "South24", Idris Mohsen Al-Marfadi (Abu Muhammad Al-Madani) and Saleh Ashour Fajih (Ubadah Al-Adani) were arrested in Qattan district.
According to the source, Al-Marfadi and Fajih are high ranking commanders in the Islamic State (ISIS) in Yemen and they were referred to the Criminal Prosecution.
This comes five weeks after the appointment of Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Saiari as Security Director of Wadi Hadramout by a decision of the Presidential Council.
The decision to appoint Al-Saiari was opposed by the First Military District, which controls Wadi Hadramout, and are facing accusations of linking to extremist organizations.
Wadi Hadramout is considered one of the most prominent areas for the presence of AQAP and ISIS members. The STC accuses the Northern forces in the Wadi of supporting the two extremist organizations.
The STC demands that its forces be enabled to fight AQAP and ISIS in Wadi Hadramout.
